GOD SHOWS HIS POWER – Exodus 7-12 (Plagues)

GOD SHOWS HIS POWER

Preparation: Tell the boys and girls every time they hear you say “Pharaoh said” and you point to them, they are to respond: “No! No! Can’t let ‘em go.” (Practice several times.)

Story:

Moses said to Pharaoh: “You must release the Israelites.”

Pharaoh said: “No! No! Can’t let ‘em go.”

But GOD was in charge and in control. He made bad things happen to the people of Egypt. All the rivers and ponds and lakes turned to blood. All the fish died and no one could drink any water. Moses said to the king: “Let God’s people go.”

Pharaoh said: “No! No! Can’t let ‘em go.”

Then God sent frogs hopping EVERYWHERE and gnats flying EVERYWHERE and flies swarming EVERYWHERE. Moses said: “Let God’s people go.”

Pharaoh said: “No! No! Can’t let ‘em go.”

All the farm animals in Egypt got sick and died, but Pharaoh still said: “No! No! Can’t let ‘em go.”

Then all the people in Egypt suddenly got painful sores all over their bodies called boils. Pharaoh still would not listen and said: “No! No! Can’t let ‘em go.”

God shot hail down from the sky along with thunder and lightning. There had never been such a bad storm in Egypt in its entire history. Pharaoh still refused to release the Israelites, as God had ordered through Moses. Pharaoh said: “No! No! Can’t let ‘em go.”

God then sent so many locusts that every square inch of ground in Egypt looked black. The locusts ate absolutely everything — every blade of grass and every piece of fruit. Pharaoh STILL said: “No! No! Can’t let ‘em go.”

Next there was complete darkness for three days and nights. Nobody could see anybody. Pharaoh STILL said: “No! No! Can’t let ‘em go.”

For the last plague, God sent death to each house one night and firstborn Egyptian sons died. FINALLY, Pharaoh shouted: “YES! YES! I’LL LET YOUR PEOPLE GO!”

TEN really bad things happened to the king and his people, but the Israelites were fine. God saved His people and took care of them through everything which happened until they were finally released from slavery.
