BIBLE VERSE HOPSCOTCH

If weather permits, use chalk to draw a hopscotch pattern outside with a word in each shape, as shown. If children can not go outside, make a grid on the floor with masking tape and put a word card in each shape.

First play “One and Two,” asking the children to say the first word (Remember), then add two more (Remember the Sabbath), then add one more (Remember the Sabbath day), then add two more (Remember the Sabbath day by keeping), then add one more (Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it), then add one more (Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy).

Then ask children to hop through the grid, reciting the verse as they go.

Play hopscotch again with each child, explaining what she will do to keep the Sabbath day holy before she jumps.
