Preparation: Place in the surprise box a brick and feather.

Lesson: (Choose two children to remove the items from the box and place on the table.)

What items do we have here? (Feather and brick)

Who would like to volunteer to come and blow on the feather?

Did the feather move? (Yes)

Why did the feather move?

(It’s light.)

Who would like to come and blow on the brick?

Did the brick move? (No)

Everyone come and let’s all blow on the brick together.

Did the brick move with everyone blowing? (No.)

Why did the brick not move? (It’s heavy.)

Do you remember the story of The Three Little Pigs?

What did the wolf do at each of the three houses? (Huffed and puffed trying to blow them down)

Was the wolf successful in blowing down the house made of bricks? (No. Bricks are really heavy.)
